March Blog: Sacred and Calming Space

Lately I've been asked by a number of people about creating sacred and calming space at home.

Creating sacred moments and places at home has always helped me become more connected to myself and my family and helps remind me of what is most important to me.  Here are some ideas on creating ritual out of everyday events that can bring moments of reflection and more happiness into your home.

When we can create calming rituals in our home, we can begin to bring awareness into our daily lives and routine that can relieve stress. It can be as simple as lighting a candle while you wash the dishes. Cooking with intention or deep breathing before bed. Just like the daily rituals we have out of necessity, calming rituals if repeated will become a habit that will eventually become a part of our life. Attaching healing visualizations to daily chores or activities can change moments of the mundane into centering and clearing moments of awareness that bring you back into your intention for the day and, ultimately, your life purpose. Here are a few more examples of calming rituals that take little effort outside of setting our intention and doing the mind work.

Moving meditations of healing while doing housework:
Vacuuming/Sweeping- Breathing and setting the intent of clearing. Visualize that all of the dirt being cleared away by the vacuum is in fact the dirt and clutter in your mind, or in your body.

Washing the dishes, the car, the windows, etc:
Breathing and setting the intent of washing away all worry and painful emotions, unhealthy energy or pain in the body.

Taking your shoes off before entering the house:
Leave the uninvited energy of the day at the door and take your shoes off as soon as you come into the house. Keep your shoes in the same place every time you enter.  When walking into your home, you are walking into your sacred space that is clear from all that went on around you and through you during the day.

Moments of prayer, intention or silent reflection before meals, bathing, and sleep:
Meals, bathing, and sleep are important anchoring ritual moments in our lives. When we attach moments of reflection, prayer and intent to these moments we are sustaining ourselves within a perception and reality of love and nurturing that not only can effect others but can effect our subconscious mind before we drift off to sleep. Affirmations and positive visualization before sleep are very powerful calming rituals that can not only help you reduce stress but also help you create the kind of life your heart and spirit desire to live.

Resiliency & Technology

There are messages of fear and advice coming from the news and media in a constant wave.

Violence, epidemics, extreme weather warnings, and tragedy. How to get well. What to eat. What not to eat. What vaccine to get. What vaccine not to get. What bank to trust. You get what I mean... It all can seem so very unstable.

Our world is in the midst of an incredible paradigm shift and it can be very confusing and even paralyzing for some of us.

Technology has become our best friend. Our daily companion.
And with this friendship has grown an even greater leap into our minds’ dominance over our hearts deep and guided knowing.
So many of us are addicted to the next hit of the next text or email. I watch people and myself react to the sounds of text rings, buzzes, whistles, and barks and go running to our phones.
The funny thing is that some of us are very aware of this but keep on doing it anyway!

We spend so much time in our heads and so little in our hearts. This great disparity makes it harder and harder to be still, calm, and to lock into the ever-present inner wisdom that guides us.  Inner guidance is present 24/7. Everyday, every moment. Just being still and quiet for a few moments a day can help you become more resilient and happier. (Sleeping doesn't count.)

Try it out for yourself. Right now... Close your computer, shut off your phone, close your eyes, and be still for 2 whole minutes.
Eyes closed, focus on your breath, and relax your body.
(Go ahead, I’ll wait here.)

It's more difficult than you think if you haven't visited that place in a while. But I bet you feel better even if it was challenging. Even 10 seconds of calm awareness is better than none at all.

Technology is not a bad thing; we just need to manage how we use it. It's just one of the many things we have distracting ourselves from our hearts and intuition.

Over the coming months I will be blogging to give information, insight, and "technical support" for change. Guidance to help you tap into your own personal power, navigate your way through difficult times to make it a meaningful and empowering journey.
I'll also be inviting you to be a part of online chats so we all can meet each other and discuss topics that I will blog about.

Some of the topics will include:

PRAYER
MEDITATION
TRANCE
PSYCHIC PERCEPTION
BIOFIELD THERAPIES (subtle energy healing)
MIND BODY AWARENESS
RESETTING YOUR BODY (Optimal Health through Diet and Nutrition)

I will look forward to taking the journey with you.

With Love,

~Lauren
